The LMU School of Education is ranked 62nd in the country, and is the third-highest ranked Jesuit institution nationally, behind only Boston College and Fordham. In addition, LMU is the third-ranked private, independent school of education in California, behind Stanford and USC. Of the more than 80 education programs in California, LMU is ranked eighth.

“Seeing the School of Education once again recognized as a top-ranked school highlights our commitment towards reshaping schools and society,” said Shane P. Martin, dean of the School of Education. “The impact of our faculty, staff, students and alumni continues to empower new generations of innovative, forward-thinking leaders across schools and communities in Los Angeles and beyond.”

The LMU School of Education was recently recognized with the 2016 American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) Best Practice Award in Support of Multicultural Education and Diversity for its education programs grounded in principles such as social justice, cultural responsiveness, inclusion, value and respect for all individuals, and leadership that is moral, intellectual, responsible, and caring.
