LMU/TFA Alumna Writes Article on the STEM Teaching Field


Rebecca Murday (MA ’13), a graduate of the LMU / Teach For America Partnership program, wrote an article offering solutions to the lack of STEM teachers in the United States. A biology and biotechnical engineering teacher at Da Vinci Science High School in Hawthorne, California, Murday recommends three strategies to solve this national issue: Improve the perception of teaching as a STEM profession; make STEM teaching a rewarding and fully supported field; and put to rest the false perception that STEM educators can’t be STEM innovators.
